The AIC designation education program is offered through the University of British Columbia and you can visit their site at www.realestate.ubc.ca for further details or at Laval University at www2.ulaval.ca/en/home.html
To become a candidate member with the Canadian National Association of Real Estate Appraisers (CNAREA), please go to http://www.cnarea.ca/ as CNAREA register all their candidate members. You must also complete the NBAREA Application for Registration https://nbarea.org/register/ and submit it to NBAREA along with proof of your candidacy.
NBAREA requires all members to participate in a Mandatory Professional Liability Insurance Program and carry two million dollars of professional liability insurance coverage. Both the AIC and CNAREA are affiliated with insurance companies who provide insurance for their members.
NBAREA also requires all members to obtain 24 education credits within a two year recertification cycle. Of those 24 education credits it is mandatory that you complete the Professional Standards Course and Appraising in New Brunswick.
As a candidate, you will be working with a mentor who will provide you with guidance on your path to designation. It is the candidate’s responsibility to find a mentor who will provide these requirements to enable you to obtain your designation.
